Términos y condiciones

Cómo funciona realmente una reserva en esta web, en términos claros, antes de enviar una solicitud.

Esta página está escrita en inglés, la versión que rige, para que nada se pierda ni cambie en la traducción.

These are the terms on which Placid Tours arranges tours, activities and speedboat transfers on the Kenya coast and to the Tanzanian islands. By sending a booking request through this site, you agree to them.

How a booking works here

This site does not take payment. Submitting the booking form sends us a request, not a confirmed, paid booking. We reply to every enquiry as quickly as we can, usually within one working day. We confirm real availability and the final price in writing — by email or WhatsApp — before anything is due. Nothing is charged to you through this website, and no card details are ever collected here.

Prices

Prices shown on this site are set and kept up to date by us directly; they are not estimates pulled from somewhere else. A price is still subject to final confirmation for your exact date and group size, because availability and group-size discounts can change it. Where a price is not shown at all, it is genuinely on request — we quote it directly once we know your dates and numbers.

Deposits and cancellation

Our current deposit and payment terms are not yet published on this page. Ask us before you book, and we will confirm them in writing before anything is due.

Our current cancellation and refund terms are not yet published on this page. Ask us before you book, and we will confirm them in writing before anything is due.

Crossings to Zanzibar and Pemba Island

Our speedboat transfers to Zanzibar and Pemba Island are international crossings into Tanzania. You are responsible for carrying a valid passport and for checking the current entry requirements for your nationality before you travel — including any visa, health or customs requirements set by the Tanzanian authorities. We are not responsible for a border authority refusing entry because of a travellers' own documentation.

What we cannot guarantee

Weather, sea conditions and wildlife are outside anyone's control. A boat trip, dive or crossing may be delayed, rescheduled or, in genuinely unsafe conditions, cancelled by us for your safety — we will always tell you honestly rather than run a trip we would not take our own family on. Wildlife sightings (dolphins included) are never guaranteed, however reliable a particular spot usually is.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for arriving on time at the agreed pickup point, for holding any documentation your trip requires (passport, dive certification, travel insurance), and for telling us about any medical condition, allergy or mobility need that could affect your safety on a particular activity, before you travel.

Liability

Placid Tours takes reasonable care in choosing guides, skippers, drivers and vessels, and in planning each trip. To the extent permitted by Kenyan law, we are not liable for loss, injury or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control — including weather, sea conditions, third-party transport, or the acts of authorities at either side of a border crossing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
